God wants a relationship with us.

It's true! The God who created everything created us specifically to have a relationship with us. It's because He loves us, and He wants us to love Him back. For that to happen, He had to give us a choice...

With that freedom to choose, called free-will, the very first humans chose to be selfish and greedy – which is called sin. This resulted in separation from God which brings Him and us a lot of grief.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

-Romans 3:23

God knew we would do this before He even created humans, but knew it was worth the risk – and cost – for the joy it would bring to us and Him. Even though we have been separated from God, He had a plan in place for us to be restored.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

-Romans 6:23

It's all about Jesus

Jesus has always been there, even before the world existed. In fact, He is God.

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God.”

-John 1:1-2
When Jesus came, He showed us how it was done. He is the only one who has ever or will ever live life perfectly.
Since God requires perfection, He is the only way we can restore our relationship with God.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

-John 14:6

It's Life or Death...and Life.

Jesus coming wasn't just to brag about being God in the flesh. He came with a purpose. He came to bridge the gap between us and God, to restore us back to God because of His love for us.

“This is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believed in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

-John 3:16
But it didn't end there. Jesus came back to life! He did it to give us all hope.

So, now what? You know all the info, but what do you do with it? Let God's Word show the way:

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

-Romans 10:9
It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. Because of Jesus dying on the cross and coming back to life, the payment has been made. All you have to do is repent of your sins, trust that is who He says He is and did what He said He did, and confess it to be true!
